Caleb Borden Photography ("we," "us," or "our") operates calebbordenphotography.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, how we use it, and what choices you have.
Information We Collect
We collect information only when you voluntarily submit it through our inquiry form. This includes your name, email address, phone number (optional), the type of work you are inquiring about, and the project details you write in your message.
We do not use cookies, analytics, or tracking technologies on our website. Nothing records where you came from, how long you spent on a page, or which photographs you looked at.
Our inquiry form includes one hidden field named “website”, which is left empty and is invisible to anyone using the site normally. Automated spam scripts fill it in, and any submission where it has been completed is discarded without being sent. It is a spam trap, not a tracker.
Inquiry Form & Formspree
Our inquiry form is processed by Formspree, a third-party form-handling service. When you submit the form, the information you enter is transmitted to Formspree's servers and forwarded to us by email. We do not store this information in our own database; it is used solely to respond to your inquiry.
Formspree's handling of this data is governed by its own privacy policy, available at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
Email is not encrypted end to end. Please do not send anything through this form that you would not be comfortable having sit in an ordinary inbox — payment card details in particular should never be sent by email.
How We Use Your Information
Information submitted through our inquiry form is used solely to respond to your inquiry, to quote for the work you asked about, and to arrange a shoot if you go ahead. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties.
You will not be added to a mailing list because you sent an inquiry. We do not operate one.
Cookies & Local Storage
Our website sets no cookies.
One item is saved in your browser's local storage, under the name “cbp_last_submit”. It records the time you last sent an inquiry so the form can ask you to wait a moment before sending another. It never leaves your device and is not transmitted with your inquiry. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
Typefaces and film poster images are served from our own server rather than from a font or video network, so opening a page on this site does not report your visit to a third party.
Embedded Video
Films on our Film Production page are hosted on YouTube, but nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. Until then, the page displays a still image served from our own server.
Once you press play, YouTube loads its player and may receive information about you, including your IP address, under Google's privacy policy. Our embeds use YouTube's no-cookie domain, which limits — but does not eliminate — what is stored on your device. If you would prefer not to be in contact with Google, do not press play.
Data Retention
Inquiry form submissions are retained in our email inbox for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry or complete your project, and may be deleted periodically thereafter. Where a booking goes ahead, records relating to the work may be kept longer where tax or contract law requires it.
If you would like us to delete your submitted information sooner, contact us using the details below.
Your Choices
You may request that we delete information you submitted via our inquiry form at any time, using the contact details below. You may also ask what we hold and ask us to correct it. There is no form to complete and no charge.
Depending on where you live you may have formal rights over this information, such as under the GDPR in the UK and EU or the CCPA in California. We handle those requests the same way.
Children's Privacy
Our website is intended for people booking photography and film work and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Sessions involving under-18s are arranged with a parent or guardian.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
